Los Arboles Tulum or go-green gringo

A true giant at Los Arboles.

Hand built entry road

With Cameron setting up the GPS for a "walkabout."

Around January of 2005, while looking for home-sites in Mexico, we found "Los Arboles", about 7 miles up Coba Road out of Tulum. We are in the process of purchasing a 5 acre parcel in this eco-friendly and totally off the grid project. This is a portion of that story so far. If you want more information there is a link added here, http://www.losarbolestulum.com/.

First of all when ever you mention you are buying property in MX most people are thinking right off the bat......do you really own it, are you going to be ripped off, are you moving there for good and a little what happens when you go to sell? I guess the answers are, yes, no, maybe and about the same when you sell anywhere else. Moving on, if you want to understand how to use a "fideicomiso" in Mexico to purchase property, esp in the restriced zones, which ours is in I would suggest www.mexonline.com/propmex.htm for a basic starter.
More to Come

Thanks for this information I found it very interesting. I hope it is a wave of the future in that area.

MY WIFE AND I HAVE BEEN TO LOS ARBOLES AND AGREE THAT IT IS LOVELY. WE HAVE PUT DOWN A DEPOSIT AND DID THE GPS THING WITH CAMERON. WE ARE SET TO CLOSE IN MID AUGUST, HOWEVER I AM HAVING MY DOUBTS THE RED TAPE WILL BE CLEARED UP BY THEN. NOT A BIG DEAL BUT IF ANYONE HAS SOME INDEPENDENT INFORMATION ABOUT WHEN THEY WILL BE ABLE TO CONVEY CLEAR TITLE IT WOULD BE APPRECIATED.
